If you need a large quantity of centerpieces but are working within a tight budget, these vases are the answer. All you need is a hot glue gun, glue sticks, mason jars, burlap, ribbon, a citrus fruit (lemon, orange, or lime) and flowers.
The first step is to cut the burlap into strips.
For the length, measure the strips out a tad longer than the radius of the jars. Once cut, double over the ends and either press or iron the ends to create a finished edge.
For the height, cut out twice the amount you want on the jar. The reason you want to double the height is cutting burlap in a straight line is a challenge. It is much easier to fold over the burlap to create a straight line. It also prevents the burlap from unraveling. Fold over the burlap on both top and bottom, then again either press firmly or iron the burlap down so it stays in place when you glue the burlap to the jar.

The second step is to hot glue the burlap on the jar.
Third, you just need to tie a ribbon around the jar. Do not hot glue so you can reuse the burlap jars at another time for a different occasion.
Finally, all you need to do is cut up some fruit pieces with the rinds showing to add color at the bottom of the centerpiece and add the flowers. The finished piece is fun and festive, and if you need a large amount of center pieces, a very cost effective way to decorate for a party.
